GrapeTree Hosts Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds

GrapeTree Medical Staffing (GrapeTree) welcomed Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds to its Milford, Iowa, office on Tuesday, August 22, in an exclusive announcement of the planned expansion of GrapeTree headquarters. Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation Board of Directors Chair Kent Stensland joined Governor Reynolds and GrapeTree CEO Tim Kinnetz for the announcement.

“We are so excited to announce our expansion in Milford, Iowa,” said GrapeTree CEO Tim Kinnetz. “We are proud of the strong commitment we are making to our local community by bringing new jobs to the Iowa Lakes Corridor, and by helping to drive economic development in Northwest Iowa.”

The GrapeTree expansion will break ground in spring 2018, and the company plans to move into the new space by the summer of 2019. The $15-20 million budgeted for the expansion will go toward a new 72,000 square foot building, comprised of two floors; state-of-the-art technological capabilities; a modern fitness facility; and other amenities for employees.

“To see an Iowa company invest so much right here in Northwest Iowa, and plan to nearly triple its local employment, is thrilling,” said Governor Reynolds. “The future of our state depends on companies like GrapeTree that allow Iowans to put down roots right here at home, rather than looking beyond the state’s borders for opportunities.”

The expansion will create roughly 200-300 new office positions, ranging from entry-level to management roles. The new building will be able to accommodate roughly 400 office staff members. The growth of the office positions will support field staff growth both in Iowa and surrounding states, further increasing employment in the region. Currently, GrapeTree employs approximately 90 office staff, who manage almost 3,000 healthcare employees working in approximately 1,000 facilities in an eight-state area: Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Kansas.

GrapeTree contributes a total economic impact of $51 million to Dickinson County, according to an economic impact analysis recently completed by The Institute for Decision-Making at the University of Northern Iowa. The study also showed that GrapeTree supports 40 jobs in the area, in addition to its own staff. This number will likely grow with the announced expansion.

GrapeTree was founded in 1999 and has enjoyed tremendous growth, especially in the past year. In August 2017, GrapeTree was honored as one of America’s fastest growing staffing firms by both Staffing Industry Analysts and Inc5000. In Iowa alone, GrapeTree assists half of all healthcare facilities in the state with their staffing shortage needs.
